Let’s create the biggest visible celebration of women in energy the UK has ever seen

The Women’s Energy Network Alliance (WENA) is launching the Women in Energy Festival (WIEF), an annual industry-wide celebration designed to recognise, elevate and connect women across the energy sector.
The Women’s Energy Network Alliance (WENA) is launching the Women in Energy Festival (WIEF), an annual, sector-wide celebration designed to recognise, elevate and connect women across the energy industry.
The goal is to generate a powerful wave of activity across LinkedIn and beyond, showcasing the women, stories and achievements that are helping to power the future of energy.
Taking place throughout Autumn, WIEF will bring together our member networks and friends to celebrate achievements, share experiences, encourage inclusion and inspire the next generation of leaders.
The aim is simple: make it easy for everyone to get involved.
Every organisation, network or community is invited to host an activity of their choice during Autumn. This could be an online webinar, a panel discussion, a mentoring session, a coffee morning, a lunch in a local café or pub, a site visit, a networking event, or even a large-scale conference for members across the UK. Whether it’s five people in a meeting room or hundreds at a major event, every contribution matters.
WIEF is designed as a collective movement where no woman is left behind. By creating opportunities of all shapes and sizes, we can ensure women across every region, role and technology have a chance to participate.
To help create a visible and unified movement throughout Autumn, WENA will provide a suite of social media assets and guidance for all participating organisations.
Together, WIEF will become a unifying celebration for the entire industry, demonstrating the scale, diversity and impact of women across the UK energy sector.

How to Get Involved
We’d love you to be part of the Women in Energy Festival (WIEF).
During Autumn 2026, any organisation, network, company, educational institution or community group can host an event as part of the festival. You do not need to be a WENA member network to participate. If you’re passionate about supporting and celebrating women in energy, you’re welcome to get involved.
What Type of Event Can I Host?
Anything you like.
WIEF is designed to make participation as easy and accessible as possible, so events can be any size, format or scale. Whether you’re bringing together a handful of people or hundreds of attendees, every event contributes to the wider movement.
Some ideas include:
An online webinar or virtual panel discussion
A networking meet-up in a local café or pub
A lunch and learn session
A mentoring event
A site visit
A roundtable discussion on inclusion or sector challenges
A workshop or skills session
A pre-organised activity such as a walking tour, cultural visit or bowling event
A regional gathering
A large-scale conference for members across the UK
The most important thing is creating opportunities for women to connect, learn, celebrate and be visible across the industry.
How Do I Promote My Event?
We’ll make it easy.
Submit your event to the WIEF team and we’ll feature it on the festival website. We’ll also provide a suite of social media assets and suggested content so you can promote your involvement and show that you’re part of the festival.
Together, by sharing our events and stories throughout Autumn, we can create a powerful wave of visibility for women across the energy sector and ensure no woman is left behind.
I just want to attend an event, how can I help?
Our aim is to create a wave of activity across LinkedIn throughout Autumn. So the best way to help us do that is to go to an event and post your takeaways to LinkedIn, tagging WENA and using the hashtag #womeninenergyfestival.

Objective
The objective of the Women in Energy Festival (WIEF) is to unite organisations, networks, businesses and individuals in a three month-long movement that shines a spotlight on the women driving progress across the energy sector.
By encouraging hundreds of events, stories, achievements and conversations throughout Autumn, WIEF aims to create a powerful wave of activity across LinkedIn and beyond. Together, we’ll raise the profile of women working across every part of the energy industry, inspire future talent, strengthen professional networks and demonstrate the scale and diversity of female leadership across the sector.
Success will be measured not only by attendance at events, but by the collective visibility we create, ensuring that wherever someone looks during October, they see women shaping the future of energy.
